Modern Bright Acid Copper Plating Process with Exceptional Levelling, Brightness and High LCD Coverage
Mirror-bright, highly levelled acid copper plating process with exceptional brightness, throwing power and high LCD coverage
ULTRABRITE 707 is an advanced bright acid copper plating system engineered to produce mirror-bright, highly levelled copper deposits within a very short plating time. The system provides excellent bright deposits on properly treated plastics and metals, and can be used as an undercoat for non-specified nickel plating operations, thereby helping to save nickel. It offers exceptional levelling over a wide current density range, excellent brightness and throwing power, and high LCD coverage, ensuring brilliant deposits even in recessed areas. The process is temperature tolerant up to 45°C, free of harmful by-products, simple to maintain and economical to run. The system comprises ULTRABRITE 707A (brightener/leveller responsible for levelling and brightness, especially LCD brightness at higher temperatures), ULTRABRITE 707B (base brightener and grain refiner across the entire current density range, which also prevents gas pore formation), ULTRABRITE 707M (make-up additive responsible for excellent throwing power and grain refinement, replenished mainly to compensate drag-out) and ULTRABRITE 761 W (wetting agent added over-the-side to minimize pitting and pore formation). The bath operates at 20–40°C with cathode current densities of 1.0–6.0 A/dm², using phosphorized copper anodes (0.03–0.06% P) with continuous filtration, and is easily controlled through routine analysis and Hull Cell studies.

ULTRABRITE 707 is a modern bright acid copper plating process that produces mirror-bright, highly levelled copper deposits within a short plating time. The system comprises ULTRABRITE 707A (brightener/leveller), ULTRABRITE 707B (base brightener), ULTRABRITE 707M (make-up additive for throwing power) and ULTRABRITE 761 W (wetting agent).
The bath operates with copper sulphate 180–240 g/L (optimum 200 g/L), sulphuric acid 50–90 g/L (optimum 65 g/L) and chloride 60–120 ppm (optimum 90 ppm), at a temperature of 20–40°C and cathode current density of 1.0–6.0 A/dm², with phosphorized copper anodes (0.03–0.06% P), air agitation and continuous filtration through a 5-micron filter.
Additives are replenished based on ampere-hours of plating: ULTRABRITE 707A at 500–1000 ml/10,000 AH (typical 800), ULTRABRITE 707B at 300–600 ml/10,000 AH (typical 400), ULTRABRITE 707M at 80–200 ml/10,000 AH (typical 150, mainly to compensate drag-out) and ULTRABRITE 761 W at 100–200 ml/10,000 AH only when needed. Small, frequent additions guided by Hull Cell studies are recommended, as 707A and 707B balance each other.
Yes. ULTRABRITE 707 produces a mirror-bright, highly levelled copper deposit that can be used as an undercoat for non-specified nickel plating operations, providing the required brightness and levelling while reducing the nickel thickness needed and thus saving nickel.
ULTRABRITE 707 is supplied in 1 L, 5 L and 30 L HDPE containers and is best before 2 years from the date of manufacturing.
